Manga Cropper

Manual cropping tool for manga-style page images

Manga Cropper

The Manga Cropper is a visual tool for manually cropping panels from manga-style (page-based) images. Use it when you need precise control over panel boundaries before running the AI pipeline.

When to Use

  • Your source material is traditional manga with complex page layouts
  • The automatic panel detection (Step 1) doesn't handle certain layouts well
  • You want to pre-crop specific regions of interest from pages
  • You're working with non-standard panel arrangements

How to Use

  1. Open the Tool Suite panel → select Manga Cropper
  2. Click Load Images to import your manga pages
  3. Draw bounding boxes around panels by clicking and dragging on the image
  4. Adjust boxes by dragging edges or corners
  5. Use Undo/Redo to correct mistakes
  6. Click Export to save cropped panels as individual images

Features

  • Visual bounding box editor — draw and resize crop regions directly on the image
  • Batch image loading — load multiple pages at once
  • Undo/Redo — full command history for non-destructive editing
  • Resize handles — fine-tune crop boundaries with pixel precision
  • Batch export — export all cropped regions at once
  • Numbered output — exported images are automatically numbered in order

Tips

  • Work through pages in reading order for consistent panel numbering
  • Manga Cropper is ideal for right-to-left page layouts (Japanese manga)
  • For vertical scroll webtoons, use the Webtoon Cropper instead
  • Cropped output is compatible with the core pipeline — load it directly into Step 1
